Hey everyone, I’m back again with another project that I’ve been super excited to share! Today, I’m gonna walk you through my latest creation – a remake of the classic Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. You know, YSL, that super famous brand, well, their stuff is pretty expensive, but I wanted to try to make one myself.

So, first things first, I started digging around for info about this bag. It seems like they changed the name from “Yves Saint Laurent” to just “Saint Laurent Paris” back in 2012 when this guy Hedi Slimane took over as the creative director. I found that all Saint Laurent bags come with a serial number to tell them apart. Usually, it’s on a small leather tag stitched inside the bag, but sometimes they just press it into the lining of one of the interior pockets.

With a solid idea of what I was aiming for, I started gathering my materials. I’m talking about leather, some lining fabric, and all the little bits and pieces you need to put a bag together. I spent a good chunk of time choosing the right color leather to match the original as closely as possible.

Next up, cutting the leather. Let me tell you, this was a test of patience! I carefully measured and cut each piece, making sure they were the correct size and shape. There were so many pieces. This step is so important because one wrong cut and the whole thing could be messed up. And let me tell you, I wanted this bag to be perfect.

Once all the pieces were ready, it was time to start assembling. I started with the main body of the bag, carefully stitching the pieces together. Then came the lining. I wanted the inside to look as good as the outside, so I took my time sewing it in, ensuring it was smooth and wrinkle-free.

Then I started adding all the details. Putting the serial number tag in the right place was fun. I carefully put the serial number tag inside the bag and ensured it was secure. After that, I added some pockets, and the zipper.

Finally, after hours of work, my YSL JUNE BOX BAG was complete! Seeing it all come together was such a rewarding feeling. I’m seriously proud of how it turned out. It was really exciting to do. It might not be the real deal, but it’s pretty darn close and it carries a special kind of satisfaction knowing I made it with my own two hands.

I hope you all enjoyed following along with my process. Stay tuned for my next project!
