Alright, so the other day I was walkin’ through the market, right? And I overheard a couple of folks talkin’ about this watch, the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Super Racing. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? I got curious, so I did a little diggin’ of my own.
First thing I did was look up this “SPIRATE™” thing they were goin’ on about. Turns out, it’s a tiny little piece inside the watch, but they say it makes a big difference. I mean, they’re usin’ it in watches that go to the bottom of the ocean and even to the moon! Can you believe it?
Then, I found out that Omega, the company that makes these watches, they used this Super Racing watch to show off this new SPIRATE™ System at the end of January. Makes sense, you gotta show off your new toys, right?
I also stumbled upon some history about these Speedmaster watches. Apparently, the very first ones used a movement called Cal. 321. This same movement was in the watches those astronauts wore when they landed on the moon! That’s some cool history right there, makes you feel like you got a piece of somethin’ special. The watch also has a movement called 321, I know some people care about that. Those numbers just look like reference numbers to me: 2915, 2998, 105.002, 105.003, 105.012, and 145.012.
Now, about the watch itself. It’s not too big, not too small. The case is 44.25mm wide, which is about average, I guess. It’s not super thin, but it’s not a brick either, at 14.9mm high. And from lug to lug, it’s 50mm. Don’t ask me what lugs are, I just know that’s what they call those things where the band attaches. It’s a pretty nice size, if you ask me. Under 15mm, that’s pretty good.
So, after all that, I went ahead and got myself one of these CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Super Racing watches. It cost me a good chunk of change, but I figured, why not? It’s a solid watch with some neat history and new technology. Plus, it looks pretty darn good on my wrist, if I do say so myself.
Here’s what I did, step-by-step:
- Heard about the watch at the market.
- Researched the SPIRATE™ System.
- Learned about Omega’s announcement.
- Dug into the history of the Speedmaster and Cal. 321.
- Checked out the watch’s specs.
- Bought the darn thing!
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Super Racing. It was a bit of an impulse buy, but I’m happy with it. It’s a nice watch, and it’s got a good story behind it. Maybe I’ll even pass it down to my grandkids someday, who knows?
