Okay, here’s my sharing about the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary:
So, the other day, I was thinking about those fancy watches, you know, the ones that cost more than my car? And I got this idea in my head about the OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary. Yeah, that’s a really long name. I don’t know what is OMEGA thinking? Anyway, I heard it’s pretty special, and you can only get it at some special stores. I’m no watch expert, but I was curious.
I started digging around online. First, I searched if Omega will make another one of those Silver Snoopy Speedmaster Professional in the next year, 2025? I just want to know before I tried to buy this one. And then I found out this “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary watch came out over two years ago, on October 5th, 2020. I felt like I was so behind on this, but that’s alright.
I decided I had to see this watch in person. So, I went to a watch shop in town. It wasn’t easy, I tell you. I called up a few places first. They were like, “Silver Snoopy what?” But finally, I found a place that had one. And I got lucky, they had a replica version.
My First Impression
When I finally saw the watch, it was pretty cool. This replica was surprisingly good, both in how it looked and how it worked. The size was a bit off, though. It was 16 mm thick, which is 1.5 mm thicker than the original. The watch guy told me that. The real one is slimmer, but I didn’t mind that much.
The watch had this cute picture of Snoopy on it. I always liked Snoopy, that little dog from the cartoons. The watch guy told me it was something about NASA and astronauts. I didn’t really get it, but it sounded important.
The Back of the Watch
- The back of the watch was the most interesting part.
- It had a picture of the moon and Earth.
- And get this, there was a little hand that went around the Earth once a minute!
- It was like a mini planetarium on my wrist.
I played around with the watch for a while. I pressed the buttons, and the little hands moved around. It felt really solid and well-made, even for a replica. I could see why people like these fancy watches.
In the end, I didn’t buy the watch. It was way too expensive for me. But it was a fun little adventure. I learned a bit about watches, and I got to see something that’s usually behind glass in a fancy store. Maybe one day, when I’m rich and famous, I’ll get one of these. But for now, I’m happy with my regular watch.
