Okay, so, I’ve been totally obsessed with the Prada Re-Edition 2000 bag lately. You know the one, right? That super cute mini hobo bag that all the celebrities have been carrying around? Yeah, that’s the one. I really wanted it, but the price tag? Ouch. So, I thought, why not try to make my own? A little DIY project, you know?

I started by looking for any info about this bag, and watched some videos about it. Turns out, this is called “original order”, which means the best quality version. There are many tips to avoid those sellers cheating you by selling low quality ones. But I just want to make one for myself.

Then I started to gather all the materials. This took me a while, honestly. I went to like a million different fabric stores trying to find something that looked like the original material that Prada uses. Found a similar material but it takes me much time. And the hardware? Don’t even get me started. Finding the right zippers, buckles, and that little Prada triangle logo was a real mission. After lots of online searching and hitting up some local shops, I finally managed to track everything down.

Next up was actually making the bag. I don’t really have a pattern or anything, so I just kind of winged it. I started by cutting out the fabric into the right shapes, using the pictures I have seen as a guide. Then, I started sewing everything together. This part was definitely the trickiest. I messed up a few times and had to unpick some seams, but eventually, I got the hang of it. I tried to make every stitch as neat as possible because you know the devil is in the detail.

Adding the hardware was pretty straightforward. I just followed some tutorials I found online. The hardest part was attaching the Prada logo. It’s so small and fiddly! But I took my time and managed to get it on there without messing up the fabric. You can make your bag unique by combining it with your favorite charms. What an amazing idea.

Finally, after many days of work, I finished! And you know what? It’s not half bad! Sure, it’s not exactly like the real Prada Re-Edition 2000 bag. It’s not perfect, there are a few wonky stitches, and the material isn’t quite right, but it’s pretty darn close! I am proud of my own version of the Prada Re-Edition 2000 bag. Most importantly, I made it myself, and that’s what counts. Plus, I saved myself a ton of money. Win-win!

I’ve already taken it out a couple of times, and I’ve gotten so many compliments. I am happy that it captures the vibe of the original. People keep asking me where I got it, and I love telling them I made it myself. It’s such a good feeling. I might make some QoL changes on it. If you’re thinking about trying to remake a designer bag, I say go for it! It’s a lot of fun, and it’s a great way to get the look you want without breaking the bank. Also you can try some visual flare into the design.
