Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this PRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag from the official flagship store for a while now. It’s one of those things you see and you’re just like, “Yeah, I gotta have that.” So, I finally decided to go for it. I mean, they say these things hold their value, right?
First thing I did was check out their selection online. They got all kinds of these Prada bags. Big ones, small ones, you name it. I was specifically looking for the Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. I saw this mini-bag version, too. And then there was this other one, the “Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag.” That’s a mouthful, huh? But the classic small one was calling my name. I even saw one that was even smaller. Honestly, what would you even put in a bag that small?
So, I started doing a little research on the material. It’s made of Saffiano leather. Apparently, full-grain leather can be either chrome-tanned or vegetable-tanned, and the thickness varies. But this Saffiano stuff, it’s like, treated and embossed. And get this, it doesn’t develop a patina over time like regular full-grain leather. Kind of interesting, right?
Then I got to thinking about whether these bags actually hold their value. I heard mixed things. Some folks online were saying they don’t, but they’re still really well-made. Someone mentioned they had a Prada nylon tote that’s, like, eight years old and still looks almost new. That made me think maybe going the pre-loved route wouldn’t be a bad idea if I wanted to save some cash.
Decision Time
After going back and forth, I decided to just get it new from the flagship store. I figured, it’s an investment, and I wanted the whole experience of getting it brand new. Plus, I heard the Galleria in the larger size is perfect as a work bag. It can apparently hold a small laptop or tablet, and even a document holder. Not that I needed it for work, but hey, good to know!
So, I placed the order. The whole process was pretty smooth. Now, it’s just a waiting game. I’m pretty stoked to finally get my hands on it. Will keep you guys posted on how it goes. Maybe I’ll even do a little unboxing once it arrives!
