Okay, so, a few weeks ago, I had this crazy idea to remake the PRADA Re-Edition 2005 bag. Yeah, I know, it sounds a bit nuts, right? But I was like, why not give it a shot? I mean, I’ve seen a ton of people online talking about the 2000 and 2005 Re-Editions, and they’re super cute and all, but also kinda pricey. I’m not really into shelling out a ton of cash for a bag, even if it is a PRADA. So, I thought, I could totally try to make one myself!

First things first, I needed to gather my materials. Now, luckily, I had some black nylon fabric lying around from a previous project. Don’t ask what the project was, I just always have extra fabric, okay? It’s a thing. Anyway, black nylon, check. Then, I started to look for a similar strap, and a zipper. Those were a little trickier to find, but after a bit of searching around the fabric stores and some online shops, I found some that were pretty close to the original. I also found a little silver triangle thing that looked pretty close to the PRADA logo. Not exact, of course, but close enough. You might think I am crazy. But I think it was a great idea.

Once I had all my materials, it was time to start sewing. I spent a whole weekend cutting and pinning and sewing. I started to doubt the whole project, but I thought I should finish it. To be honest, I’m not a professional seamstress or anything, but I’ve dabbled in sewing before. I just kind of figured it out as I went. There were definitely some moments where I messed up and had to rip out seams and start over. I almost gave up a few times, but I kept reminding myself how cool it would be to have a homemade version of the bag. Also, the thought of saving all that money was a pretty good motivator. I don’t know how long I spent on it. But I was so happy when I finally put the last stitches in and I had something that looked like the real deal.

Finally, the big reveal! I finished the bag! It’s not perfect, obviously, but I’m actually really proud of how it turned out. It’s got that same minimalist, chic vibe as the real PRADA Re-Edition 2005, and it’s the perfect size for carrying my essentials. Plus, I made it myself, which makes it even more special. I wore it out the other day and even got a few compliments on it! Of course, people asked me where I got this. I did not tell them the truth. But I enjoyed the moment.

So, if you’re thinking about getting a PRADA Re-Edition 2005 but don’t want to spend the money, maybe consider making your own! It’s definitely a fun challenge, and you’ll end up with a unique bag that you can be proud of. Just be prepared for some trial and error, and maybe a few frustrating moments. But trust me, it’s worth it in the end!

And hey, if I can do it, you can totally do it too! Good luck! I was thinking maybe I should go to the official PRADA store and compare my remake with the real one. What do you think?
