Today, I got an idea to remake a Prada bag, you know, the small Prada Galleria Saffiano special edition bag, classic style. It’s a pretty neat bag, and I thought, why not try to make one myself?

Getting Started

First, I looked up some stuff about this bag online. I found some descriptions about “cones reinventados” and “novas bolsas em couro” from Prada’s archives. Sounds fancy, right? I also saw mentions of “Mochilas e pochetes” with “Designs icnicos e funcionais” in “couro e Re-Nylon.” I guess that means they have some cool designs made of leather and this Re-Nylon stuff.

Gathering Materials

So, I needed some leather and maybe some of that Re-Nylon material. I didn’t have any Re-Nylon, so I just stuck with leather for this project. I found a nice piece of leather in my storage that I thought would work great. I also gathered some basic tools like a cutter, some thread, and needles. Nothing too fancy, just the usual stuff for a little DIY project.

The Process

I started by sketching out the design of the bag. I wanted it to look like the original, so I paid close attention to the pictures I found online. Then, I cut the leather into the shapes I needed. It was a bit tricky to get the curves right, but I managed it after a few tries. Next, I started sewing the pieces together. This part took a while because I wanted to make sure the stitches were neat and strong.

  • Sketching the design – I roughly drew out how I wanted the bag to look.
  • Cutting the leather – I carefully cut the leather into the right shapes.
  • Sewing the pieces – I slowly stitched all the parts together, making sure it was sturdy.

Almost There

After a lot of sewing, the bag started to take shape. It actually looked pretty good! I added a few details like a small pocket inside and a strap to carry it. I didn’t find anything about “Prada Tendncias e Novidades” with “Prada Online, Em At 12 x Sem Juros, Entrega em At 7 dias” that I could use, so I just kept it simple and focused on getting the basic shape right.

Finishing Up

Finally, I finished sewing the last few parts, and there it was, my homemade version of the Prada Galleria bag! It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty proud of it. It was a fun project, and it felt good to make something with my own hands. I might try using different materials next time, maybe even try to find some of that Re-Nylon stuff.

So, that’s my little adventure in bag making. It was a good way to spend a few days, and I ended up with a nice bag that I made myself. Maybe I’ll try another design next time. Who knows?
