Okay, so I’ve been eyeing the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso for a while now. It’s just such a classic, you know? Finally, I decided to go for it and start messing around to see if I could pull off that Reverso Tribute Monoface look. I mean, who wouldn’t want to rock that classic style?

First, I started digging around, just browsing pictures, and reading up a bit on the recent releases. Seems like they dropped a bunch of new models in the Reverso Tribute collection recently. There is a saying that they are introduced and patented in 1931, which is amazing! No wonder I feel it looks like a traditional gentleman.

Then I got to work on figuring out the look. I noticed they offer these in stainless steel. That’s definitely the vibe I’m going for. They’ve got this slick blue sunray lacquer dial that really pops, and a more toned-down silver opaline dial. Since these are the Monoface versions, I guess that makes it simpler.

The whole point of the Reverso, from what I gather, is that flip. Originally, it was just to protect the watch face, but now, it’s this cool blank space. People get all sorts of stuff engraved on there – initials, logos, whatever. Pretty neat if you ask me.

Here are some random thoughts that I got while doing this whole thing:

  • I always thought of the Reverso as a watch for, like, really mature guys. Guess I’m finally there, haha. Not old, just…mature.
  • I was worried it might be too formal, but honestly, it looks pretty killer with jeans and sneakers, not just a suit.
  • Rolex is cool and all, but Jaeger-LeCoultre really seems to step it up with the intricate designs. And from what I can tell, their prices aren’t totally insane for a starter luxury watch.
  • These guys have a ton of different variations – materials, dials, jewels, you name it. Seems like they really know how to craft some complicated stuff.

So yeah, that’s where I’m at with my little Reverso Tribute Monoface project. It’s been fun messing around with the style and learning about the watch. It’s definitely given me a new appreciation for Jaeger-LeCoultre. I feel like I’ve achieved the classic style that I was going for.
